How to Create a Post

Tarweed is an online platform with the goal of helping writers find a following while they are working on a book, as well as through publication and beyond.
We are inviting a small group of writers to participate in Works In Progress, our first round of author introductions. As an experienced author, you are invited to create a Tarweed account, where you will introduce readers to your current book length project. This includes excerpts, bios, outlines, pitches, links, videos, etc., as well as links to past published work.
If you’d like to participate, take a look at the website, create an account. Send your user name to Tarweed@gmail.com and we will upgrade your account so that you have access to the dashboard.
Guidelines for posting your work on Tarweed
As an Author, you should be able to upload an avatar into your profile. A thumbnail photo of you or something you’d like to represent you.
You will be able to create posts, and paste in your excerpts, bio, novel pitch, links to youtube videos, etc.
This round is about work in progress, but that does not limit you. You can publicize your published work also, by posting excerpts, links, etc. We would also appreciate posts about current projects. These may be altered, replaced, etc, as your project evolves.
Each post should include one ‘featured image’ so that it works with our sliders as on our current front page.
To put a photograph in your post, go to ‘featured image’ at the lower right, and select upload image. You will need to have a photo in jpeg format ready to upload into your media library. Then make sure you click on the prompt confirming you want this as your featured image. You may add images to your posts, (place the cursor where you want the photo to show up, click add media above, upload the image to your media library, select ‘include in post’, choose the layout option, and click update) You can also upload images to your media library for later use.
You will need to select a particular category for each post, and also choose one or more tags. The Categories, and Tags tools should appear at the right of your screen when you have the dashboard open and are creating or editing a post.
When posting current work, you select the category, ‘Works in Progress’ which will add your post to front page on the site.
But also choose categories and tags like, ‘fiction’, ‘short stories’ – as they apply to your post. Those will be helpful in featuring your posts later on.
It is important to click, Publish, once you have your post ready.
Take a look at the finished post by clicking ‘View Post.’
Go back via the arrow at the top of your browser to return to the dashboard if you wish to post or edit.
When editing the post, remember to click Update, when done.
Feel free to try an assortment of material and make changes as needed.
You may have questions. Feel free to email me. I am also available by phone if you get in a snarl!  650 576-3871.
Thank you for participating in Tarweed Closed Beta! We appreciate your patience as we continue to adjust our tools to work for you.
Have fun! I look forward to seeing your work on Tarweed.
